Pony Express Relay Database™

The Pony Express Relay Database™ is a software package that enables data consolidation, filtering and acts as a data sharing tool for data networks.

Data consolidation - A specific Pony Express Relay Database™ receives and stores data from numerous data collection sites throughout the supply chain.  The data consolidation function can be used to track products and their attributes at each stage of production.

Data sharing to prior owners - A Pony Express Relay Database™ knows the identification of all data collection points and the information associated with each production site. The data sharing to prior owners allows the prior owners to understand the later outcome of each unit of production.

Data sharing to upstream Pony Expresses - A Pony Express Relay Database™ can share information with upstream Pony Express Relay Databases, allowing a decentralized data network to be built (see below). The data sharing with subsequent owners allows for management decision-making based upon fact. Individual product histories can easily be accessed, reviewed, and decisions made based upon real information.

Data filtering - When a Pony Express Relay Database™ shares information with other owners or other upstream Pony Express Relay Databases, specific data events may be filtered so that only a subset of information is sent.

The Pony Express Relay Database can be configured as either a centralized or decentralized data network. In a centralized network, there is only one Pony Express Relay Database™ and all sites report into and extract data from that one database. Data networks can also be configured using a decentralized data structure such as the example at the top of the page. Large Operation Use - A large operation that has multiple data collection points can use a Pony Express Relay Database™ as a data consolidation point and a way for information collected at one data collection point to be shared with all other collection points in the operation.

Data Network Use - One or more Pony Express Relay Databases can be used to build a large, data network for a state or national data collection scheme.
