CattleCard™
CattleCard™ (US Patent No. 6,211,789 ) is a data collection
solution for those without computers. The system allows producers to
collect group data and individual data using a barcoded index card and
RFID identifier. In beef production, there is one index card and an
RFID eartag. CattleCard™ can also be used with barcode identification tags.

Customized information such as vaccinations, treatments, and herd of
origin are collected on the card. The cards are returned to a central
point where the information from the card is entered into the
appropriate database.
When later information is available on these animals from
backgrounders, feedlots, or packing plants, the rancher works with a
vet, extension agent or other intermediary to pull down the information
and use that information to make decisions about genetics and management
practices.
The CattleCard Plus™ system provides all the features of
CattleCard™, but includes, in addition to an RFID tag, a visual ID tag.
This enables individual animal events to be recorded after the initial
cards are returned, using the visual ID.
US Patent No. 6,211,789 was issued to AgInfoLink Global Inc. for
Cattle Card™, a product that has been successfully used by ranchers as
an individual animal management solution. See press release from August
20, 2001.
